PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
NC-SIL K is an anhydrous potassium silicate powder that inhibits hydration of reactive drill-cuttings before they have a chance to disperse in the active mud system. By keeping the cuttings intact, the efficiency of the solids control equipment is greatly improved.

APPLICATION
- NC-SIL K is recommended when drilling in reactive shale formations where dispersed fine solids create the need for dilution of the mud system in order to maintain good rheological properties.
- NC-SIL K can be used in any water-based mud that does not contain high concentrations of calcium and magnesium. The limited solubility of this product allows it to react with drill cuttings and the wellbore surface without a build-up of soluble silicate in the mud, thus avoiding the problems often associated with silicate muds.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
NC-SIL K should be added to water-based mud systems at a concentration of 0.25 - 2 lb/bbl.

NC-SIL K is is available in 55 US gallon (208.19 l) drums, palletized as 4 drums per pallet.
