Shale Inhibitor

GLYCOL-LC

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

GLYCOL-LC is low-cloud-point polyalkylene glycol formulation. It is used in water-based drilling fluids to improve lubricity and shale stability. It is recommended for use in potassium and sodium based salt (5-22 percent by weight).

PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Appearance Pale yellow to brown liquid
Specific Gravity 1.0g/cm3
Boiling Point > 292.2°C
Flash Point > 204.4°C
Solubility Insoluble in water

APPLICATION

  • GLYCOL-LC is a low-cloud-point additive designed for low salinity range salinity fluids (< 30,000 mg/l Cl-). It can provide significant reductions in mud dilution rates, reduced friction coefficients, less mud related drilling problems and enhanced rates of penetration.
  • GLYCOL-LC is particularly effective with common salinity’s type and ranges used in the drilling fluid industry.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

0.5-5 % by volume. Concentration depends on salt type, concentration as well as the down hole temperature range.

PACKAGING

GLYCOL-LC is available in 55 US gallon (208.19 l) drums, palletized as 4 drums per pallet.
