Lost Circulation

NC-SEAL G

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

  • NC-Seal G graphite is a coarse-sized plugging agent used to bridge and seal permeable formations in water-, oil- or synthetic-based mud systems. When drilling depleted zones where high differential pressures exist, the bridging and plugging capabilities of NC-Seal G reduce differential-pressure sticking tendencies.
  • NC-Seal G can be used to control seepage in partial to severe lost-circulation zones. It is completely inert and does not affect rheological properties and reduces torque and drag by increasing the lubricity.

PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Appearance Black powder
Specific Gravity 2.2g/cm3
Solubility Insoluble

APPLICATION

NC-Seal G is designed to bridge and seal permeable formations, reducing the possibility of differential sticking, controlling lost circulation and increasing lubricity.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

  • The recommended treatment for seepage losses (<10 bbl/hr) is 15 - 20 lb/bbl (43 -57 kg/m3) in spotted pills. The pills can be incorporated into the entire system for a total concentration of 5 - 10 lb/bbl (14 - 29 kg/m3)
  • The recommended treatment for partial losses (20 - 50 bbl/hr) is 20 - 50 lb/bbl (57 - 143 kg/m3) in spotted pills.

PACKAGING

NC-Seal G is available in 25 kg multi-wall paper sacks, palletized as 40 sacks per pallet.
