PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PBS-ACC is a salt/magnesium compound that serves as a crosslink catalyst when mixed with PBS Plug. Also, calcium chloride may be used as a secondary accelerator in cold-water applications, or to increase rigidity of the plug. The polymers in the base product add viscosity and filtration control and are cross-linked by the borate anion in the sparingly water-soluble borate salts. The catalysts initiate the crosslink reaction by raising the pH and salinity of the freshwater mixture. This reaction is accelerated by the normally higher temperature in the wellbore. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance Dark Green Liquid pH 2…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION NUT-PLUG (F-M-C) cellulose is ground walnut or pecan hulls. It is used for the treatment of lost circulation. NUT-PLUG material is available in fine, medium and coarse particle sizes, and may be used in all types and densities of fluid systems. NUT PLUG material may be used as a granular‐type lubricant to reduce torque and drag. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance Tan to brown granules Specific Gravity 1.35g/cm3 Bulk Density 577 - 641 kg/m3 Solubility Insoluble APPLICATION NUT-PLUG cellulose is an effective lost circulation treating material. It has a granular shape, and can be used in a blend…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION NC-Seal G graphite is a coarse-sized plugging agent used to bridge and seal permeable formations in water-, oil- or synthetic-based mud systems. When drilling depleted zones where high differential pressures exist, the bridging and plugging capabilities of NC-Seal G reduce differential-pressure sticking tendencies. NC-Seal G can be used to control seepage in partial to severe lost-circulation zones. It is completely inert and does not affect rheological properties and reduces torque and drag by increasing the lubricity. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance Black powder Specific Gravity 2.2g/cm3 Solubility Insoluble APPLICATION NC-Seal G is designed to bridge and seal permeable…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION NC-MARB is a high-purity, acid-soluble, calcium carbonate used as a bridging and weighting agent in drilling fluids, drill-in and workover /completion fluids. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance White powder Type Calcium Carbonate Specific Gravity 2.7 - 2.9g/cm3 Bulk Density 961 - 1041 kg/m3 Solubility Very slightly soluble in cold water APPLICATION NC-MARB F is the standard weighting material, can be used to increase the density of all drilling fluids, workover /completion fluids. NC-MARB M (medium) and NC-MARB C (coarse) can be used as bridging agents for lost circulation problems and squeeze mixes. RECOMMENDED TREATMENT As a weighting agent,…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION MICA is an all-purpose lost circulation material designed to reduce not only severe lost circulation but also minor seepage losses. It is applicable in both water-based and oil-based drilling fluids. MICA is available in Fine, Medium and Coarse grades. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance Grey Powder Specific Gravity 2.6 - 2.9g/cm3 Bulk Density 1746 kg/m3 Solubility Insoluble in water APPLICATION MICA FINE may be added directly to the drilling fluid as a precautionary measure in stopping lost circulation since the small particles pass through the shaker screen and are thus retained in the system. MICA MEDIUM AND COARSE…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION KWIKSEAL is a lost circulation material. It is a combination of mineral granules, mica flakes, and cellulitic fibrous materials varying in size, shape, and toughness. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance White Solid Powder Specific Gravity 0.9 - 1.2g/cm3 Solubility Insoluble in water APPLICATION KWIKSEAL is a very effective lost circulation material when fracture or extremely porous zones are encountered. KWIKSEAL has been especially effective when utilized with high fluid loss 'squeeze plugs’. It is inert and does not interact with any drilling fluid components. It is unaffected by crude oil, acids or brines. RECOMMENDED TREATMENT When adding KWIKSEAL…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION G-PLUS R provides a thermally stable fluid-loss additive for high or low temperature wells. Based on extensive lab tests and field applications, it is known that a specific particle size will seal the face of porous sands and other formations helping reduce the differential pressure transfer. G-PLUS R graphitic particles with a PSD ranging from 40 mesh to > 200 mesh (425 to > 75 microns) are classified in that specific size range to effectively reduce fluid loss. G-PLUS R has a very high melting point, unlike resins or gilsonite-based products. This carbon-based material has treated temperatures over…
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Formation Seal is a natural fibers-blend of cellulostic material that has been formulated and processed to produce a unique material that combats any and all loss-circulation problems. Formation Seal comes in three grades: FINE (F) 50 Median Microns, MEDIUM‎ (M) 105-150 Median Microns and COARSE(C) 420-840 Median Microns. PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL PROPERTIES Appearance Brown Powder Specific Gravity 0.9 - 1.2 g/cm3 Bulk Density 720 kg/m3 Solubility Immiscible APPLICATION & TREATMENT FORMATION SEAL is recommended to be added to the mud prior to entering a suspected loss-circulation zone at a concentration of 5 - 30 lb. /bbl.
